Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered into a search tool, such as a name or case number, is sent to the outside provider that operates that search. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Morgan County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message is kept as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
As with most websites, the server may collect basic technical and usage details when a page loads:
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. They and analytics services help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Operating the website and maintaining page performance
- Routing a submitted search to the appropriate partner service
- Understanding which material visitors use
- Diagnosing security, performance, and technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Morgan County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal court dockets or case records. It publishes general information about where Morgan County court files are kept and how to reach Jody M. Higdon, Clerk of Superior and Juvenile Court, other local court offices, and official access services. Court records themselves remain with the originating Georgia court or clerk. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Data entered in one of those tools is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Morgan County Court Docket does not control those practices. Visitors should review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Morgan County clerk, Georgia courts, county offices, official case-access services, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows an external link, that destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Personal details should be supplied only after reviewing the destination and its terms.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or select targeted advertising. That processing occurs under the provider's practices, not on systems controlled by Morgan County Court Docket.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that process a query chosen by the visitor
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving ads on the website
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information collected through the website. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Morgan County Court Docket works to reduce risk but cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be submitted so it can be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Depending on a visitor's location and circumstances, applicable Georgia privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights involving personal data. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. ยง 50-18-70 et seq., governs requests to covered public agencies, but it does not govern private website visitor-data requests. Georgia Attorney General guidance also explains that court records follow court rules, statutes, orders, and clerk procedures rather than a general county open-records form. At a minimum, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held by the website
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information when applicable
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. Any revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Visitors can return to this page to review the current terms.
